Ubi Soft Entertainment has announced that Silent Hunter II, its latest submarine combat simulation, has shipped to stores. The game is set in the Atlantic during World War II and re-creates some of the historic battles between Hitler's U-boats and the British and American convoys.

Silent Hunter II includes more than 200 detailed 3D models, including destroyers, armed merchant ships, and aircraft. It features 3D models of all the major U-boat stations, as well as realistic ocean environments, weather effects, weapons systems, and ship physics. The game's campaign covers the entire span of the war in the Atlantic and features scalable realism settings to match the levels of both beginners and experts.

Silent Hunter II was developed by Ultimation and is being published under Ubi Soft's SSI label. The game will soon be available in stores for an approximate retail price of $39.95. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
