Ubi Soft Entertainment has announced that its latest submarine simulation game, Silent Hunter II, has gone gold and will soon ship to stores. The game lets players control a submarine during World War II. It features a single-player campaign based on historical World War II battles, and it includes realistic models of ships, aircraft, and submarines, as well as accurate ship motion and weather effects. A special multiplayer mode will let players compete head-to-head against surface ships controlled by players of Ubi Soft's upcoming naval combat simulation, Destroyer Command, which is scheduled for release in December.

Silent Hunter II will be available in stores in early November for an approximate retail price of $39.95. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
