Sid Meier's Starships Launching in March, Price Revealed

Firaxis confirms release date and pricing for the turn-based interstellar strategy game.

Sid Meier's Starships, the recently announced turn-based interstellar strategy title developed by Sid Meier himself, will launch on March 12, developer Firaxis Games announced today.

The $15 game will be available on that date for Windows PC, Mac, and iPad. Firaxis has not announced plans to bring the game to other platforms, such as Android, at least not yet.

In Starships, you'll control a fleet of starships as you journey through the galaxy to complete missions, protect planets and their inhabitants, and build a planetary federation.

As you trek through the stars, you'll be challenged to expand your federation's influence and reach. You'll also amass futuristic technology and take part in turn-based combat using a deep roster of customizable ships, some of which you can see in the image gallery below.

Starships also features integration with Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth, the groundwork for which publisher 2K Games recently introduced through an update for that game.
