Sid Meier's Ace Patrol: Pacific Skies revealed
World War II-set sequel to strategy game from Firaxis Games coming to Steam and iOS this fall; no word on Android version.
2K and Firaxis Games today announced Sid Meier's Ace Patrol: Pacific Skies for Steam and iOS devices. A sequel to May's strategy title Sid Meier's Ace Patrol, the World War II-set game will be released this fall. Pricing was not announced.
Like the original, Pacific Skies was developed by longtime Civilization designer Sid Meier.
The strategy game is set in the skies above the Pacific Ocean and draws inspiration from war stories of "famed military aviators," though none were named.
Players can customize their pilots and aircraft while journeying through a "wide variety of missions." Special skills, upgrades, and maneuvers can be unlocked through play.
Gamers can pilot American and Japanese fighter planes and complete tasks that are set during historical battles like Pearl Harbor, Midway, and Guadalcanal.
No mention was made of a release for Pacific Skies on Android or Windows Phone devices.
