Spring is in the air, and so is the enthusiasm among PC real-time strategy gamers. That's because the latest iteration of the legendary Command & Conquer franchise hits stores today with more than a little fanfare. Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars is the first all-new installment in the series in nearly four years, and it has received glowing reviews.
An Xbox 360 version of Tiberium Wars is due out in May. But owners of Microsoft's latest console got their own major release this week in the form of The Shivering Isles, the first full-fledged expansion for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Other releases on the console include Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire and the movie tie-in Disney's Meet the Robinsons, which is also coming out for the PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, GameCube, Nintendo DS, and Game Boy Advance.
Last but not least, the first Splinter Cell game arrives on the PlayStation 3. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent sees supersecret spy/commando Sam Fisher go even deeper undercover by posing as a new recruit for a rogue terrorist group.
