Last week, the PlayStation Vita went on sale in North America. This week's new release slate doesn't include any new hardware, but it does pack in several high-profile new software releases, including SSX, Binary Domain, and Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition.

SSX hits the slopes this Tuesday.

Leading the pack this week is EA Sports' over-the-top snowboarding game SSX for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. While SSX will still feature the tricks and high-speed racing the series was previously known for, EA is changing the formula a bit. This time out, there will be no boundaries on the mountain, allowing players to free-ride virtually anywhere they please.

Also out this week on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is Sega's squad-based shooter Binary Domain. The game is set in Tokyo in the year 2080, a time when humans are locked in battle with robots. In the game, players take control of a human peacekeeping team set on regaining control of the city. However, as the peacekeepers continue their fight against the robots, they begin to ponder whether or not they are becoming robotic or robots are becoming human. The game is the latest project from Toshihiro Nagoshi, who is best known for his work on the Yakuza and Super Monkey Ball franchises.

Gamers looking to bundle up this week can pick up Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The Komplete Edition of the game includes all four downloadable characters, as well as 15 throwback skins for the cast and three "Klassic" fatalities for the series' original trio of masked ninjas: Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Reptile. The package will also come with downloadable versions of the 1995 feature film Mortal Kombat, as well as the music CD Mortal Kombat: Songs Inspired by the Warriors.
