Shadow of the Eternals Kickstarter returns July 25
Precursor Games reveals re-launch date for crowdfunding campaign for Eternal Darkness spiritual successor.
The Kickstarter campaign for Shadow of the Eternals will re-launch on July 25, developer Precursor Games announced today. The game's original crowdfunding efforts--through Kickstarter and its own website--were shut down early last month citing "exciting new opportunities."
"Numerous suggestions about the first campaign were given to us by our community--and we listened," Precursor said on its website. "At this point we are not ready to talk about what has changed, but it is safe to say that it is a great deal. We look forward to discussing these changes more in the near future."
Late last month, Precursor Games developer Kenneth McCulloch, 42, was arrested on child pornography charges. The studio was quick to distance itself from the designer, with CEO Paul Caporicci saying that McCulloch is "no longer affiliated in any way" with the company.
Shadow of the Eternals is billed as a spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, a 2002 GameCube title from Silicon Knights. The game is slated for a 2014 release on the PC and Wii in episodic form.
