Send in the (Rodeo) Clowns....

Adrenalin taps pro rodeo mayhem for upcoming title.

Adrenalin Interactive has signed an exclusive worldwide licensing agreement with the International Pro Rodeo Association to develop PC and console games based on IPRA competitions and events.

Octagon Entertainment signed an agreement with Adrenalin and the IPRA to "pursue exclusive publishing relationships" for games created under the license. Octagon is a company that arranges financing, publishing, licensing, and distribution agreements for game developers and has worked in the past with Adrenalin Interactive on Adrenalin's Pink Panther Passport to Peril and Hokus Pokus Pink PC titles.

Adrenalin plans to release a Pro Rodeo game in 1999, which will feature cowboys or cowgirls that players can customize, more than 20 bulls and broncs to choose from, and competitions ranging from bareback bronc riding to calf roping to bull riding. The game will be playable over LAN and the Internet. And of course, there will be a place for rodeo clowns in the game.

Jay Smith, chairman and CEO of Adrenalin, said that games based on the IPRA license have, "if successful, the potential to sell in excess of $5 million at retail."
