Ten months ago, Sports Interactive, former developer of Eidos' popular Championship Manager franchise, announced a deal with Sega to develop a similar series of text-based soccer management games. Today, the first installment in the new series, Worldwide Soccer Manager, shipped out to stores. Based on the Championship Manager engine, the game lets you coach, scout, and trade players--all via text. The game's launch was done in coordination with America's pro soccer organization, Major League Soccer, whose teams--along with players from 50 other countries around the world--are featured in the game. Available for PC and Macintosh, the game is rated "E" for Everyone and it retails for $39.99.
