If imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery, Nintendo should be blushing pretty heavily right now. Its Wii Sports minigame compilation has spawned a host of "Mii-too" products and made the subgenre a frequent resident on the system's upcoming release schedule. Two more sports compilations were confirmed today in the form of Sega's Wacky World of Sports and Activision's Big League Sports: Summer.

Set for release late this year, Wacky World of Sports tackles an array of 10 competitive events that have yet to be adapted for the Wii, including furniture racing, tuna tossing, and extreme ironing. Beyond the multiplayer mayhem, Sega is also including a Tour mode, where players pick from a variety of characters and run a global gauntlet of wacky sports champions.

Activision is taking a more straightforward approach with its Big League Sports: Summer game for the Wii and DS. Arriving in stores this June, Big League Sports will present players with specific challenges in a variety of sports, including football, tennis, golf, volleyball, soccer, and baseball. The game will also support up to four players in a series of cooperative All Star-themed challenges.
