Too bad.

Capcom has revealed some of the Street Fighter V characters who, for various reasons, did not make the cut for the fighting game's roster. As you might have guessed, these are some pretty bizarre characters, including a "fighting president" and one whose clothes fell off during matches. That's just the start.

An entry on the Capcom Fighters Network website covers the rejected characters, featuring insight from director Takayuki Nakayama. You can see them all in the gallery below.

Why is he so sad?
Why is he so sad?

Nakayama didn't say much about Fighting President, but he did mention that the character was also considered for 2008's Street Fighter IV. No word on why he looks so sad, though. Maybe because he keeps getting cut from Street Fighter games.

Another rejected character was "Fighting Literary Master." He's described as an "old man that constantly grumbles to himself." Yet another character was named "Cutie Clumsie," and her thing was that, when she started fighting, her clothes would "become tattered due to her clumsiness" and fall off. Nakayama mentioned that the idea for her came up as Capcom was designing the character Laura.

Capcom also designed a "Soccer Fighter" whose attacks would have included death by soccer ball, it looks like. However, he was "way too similar to Roberto from Rival Schools, so he got the cut."

Another interesting-sounding rejected character was "Prototype Shadaloo Soldier." His design was inspired by the Aliens vs. Predator film series. "But yeah, he didn't make the cut," Nakayama said.

Head to the Capcom Fighters Network website to read descriptions for all of the rejected characters. Nakayama also teased this is just the first wave of rejected characters that Capcom will reveal.

Street Fighter V launched in February with a roster of 16 characters, while more have been added through DLC. The next two are Ibuki and Balrog, who come to the game tomorrow, July 1, alongside the new story mode.
