A new art book based on The Legend of Zelda series is on the way called The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts.

The book is more than 400 pages long and consists of "fully realized artistic masterpieces, exclusive interviews with the design team behind the beloved video game franchise, the official pixel art of the early series, and rare promotional art never before published in this format."

It also promises to offer a sneak peek of art from the upcoming Breath of the Wild "prior to its official release." That's potentially noteworthy, as the book is slated to arrive on February 21, 2017. Breath of the Wild does not have an exact date; following a delay, it's scheduled for a release in 2017. If this press release is accurate, we won't be seeing the game until after then.

Art & Artifacts comes from Dark Horse Comics, which previously partnered with Nintendo for The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia, a look at the art and history of the series. The press release describes this latest book as the "first in a new line of The Legend of Zelda literature."

The book is available for preorder now through Amazon. You can see a handful of preview pages from it in the gallery above.
