Seaman announced for the PS2
Ascii signs on as the publisher of Seaman for the PlayStation 2.
On Wednesday, Ascii announced that it will publish the Sony PlayStation 2 version of Seaman. The game is being developed by Vivarium, which also worked on the Dreamcast version. The software will be released in two different packages, which both include a microphone controller. One of the packages will include the so-called Seaman Special Version of the controller, while the other includes the normal version. Seaman for the PlayStation 2 is currently scheduled for release on November 15 in Japan. Sega has not announced a North American release date at this time.
First released on the Japanese Dreamcast in 1999, Seaman has sold more than 550,000 copies in that country.
