Scribblenauts Remix domain name registered

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's URL registration hints at new entry in imaginative puzzle game franchise.

5th Cell's Scribblenauts series burst onto the scene in 2009 with the well-received original, which has since sold more than 1 million units. A sequel--Super Scribblenauts--shipped in 2010 and did not fare as well with critics. Now, it appears a third entry is on the way.

Is a third Scribblenauts game on the way?

Franchise publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has grabbed www.ScribblenautsRemix.com (as spotted by Superannuation). This domain name registration hints that the publisher is seeking to build a third entry in the creation-based series. And its name, Remix, suggests the game may in some way incorporate elements from the first two installments in the series.

Bellevue, Washington-based developer 5th Cell created the first two Scribblenauts games and is currently working on a postapocalyptic third-person shooter called Hybrid. That game was recently delayed to the first quarter of 2012.

@Super-Poke-Bros Those updates would be free, of course.

It would be cool if you could draw objects, animate, and maybe even program them and add them to the dictionary. Also, they said that the 3DS will have DLC, so they could update the dictionary through that.

Hey I love those guys at 5th Cell. They're super creative, and they think outside the box if you listen to the interviews with Slackza.I will gladly pay attention to any game they are working on. And the GS review for SuperScribblenauts was jank. The reviewer totally screwed up in a few levels and blamed the game.(He tried to give meat to a dog by putting it inside a suitcase, then got mad when the dog didn't eat it.Duh!)I played the same levels and had a blast. I want UltraScribblenauts, for 3DS and Wii U. 5th Cell would dominate on those systems.

I don't think it's a new game. Look at the title "remix". Just like Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. I sense a port of some sort, or a "HD remix" version of the games for other consoles.

I'm excited, this series is so original and funny. Though, I wish they would expand to other platforms and not just nintendo platforms, go 3D, be bigger and better overall... (Not crytizing nintendo or anything at all, just my taste doesn't involve much else from them)

If they go 3DS I hope they take a "Paper Mario" approach to the graphics.

Super Scribblenauts was better than the first in every way imaginable. If they keep up the momentum, this game is going to be a masterpiece.

Previous posters have already called the writer out on this but i couldn't ignore it. If you look up the two games on Gamerankings the second has a higher score than the first! It's pretty egotistical for gamespot to make a blanket statement when they were in the minority opinion As far as the domain I would love to see a console installment. The WiiU would be perfect for this franchise

Honestly, the more the merrier. These games are pure genius. Worth owning a DS for.

This is cool, but I need a complaint: "A sequel--Super Scribblenauts--shipped in 2010 and did not fare as well with critics." One person who reviewed the game =/= "critics". The GameRankings score is higher than the original. How can it "not fare as well with critics"? GameSpot =/= every critic.

YES. I really hope this comes to consoles (= Wii U). Scribblenauts in 3D would be AMAZING. Or I guess I'd settle for a 3DS version, too. Also GameSpot, don't say that the second game didn't fair as well with critics just 'cause YOU didn't like it. The rest of the gaming press certainly did: http://www.metacritic.com/search/all/scribblenauts/results
