Scott brothers creating Call of Duty: Elite video content

Sibling directors working with Activision to create original programming for Call of Duty online service; The Office's Ben Silverman also on board.

In early June, Activision announced that it would be bringing a video series to Call of Duty: Elite--the social network surrounding this November's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3--with "top Hollywood talent." Last week, the publisher said Will Arnett and Jason Bateman's dumbdumb production company would be providing content for the service, but now the publisher has attached even bigger names to the project.

The Scott brothers are making Call of Duty video content.

During the 13th Annual Pacific Crest Global Technology Leadership Forum in Vail, Colorado, yesterday, Activision publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said Gladiator director Ridley Scott, Man on Fire director Tony Scott, and The Office producer Ben Silverman are contributing to the video series for Call of Duty: Elite.

Unfortunately, Hirshberg did not elaborate further on what the contributions of each will be. As of press time, Activision had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment.

Gamers won't need to wait long to get a glimpse at the Call of Duty: Elite programming, as Arnett will be on hand at Call of Duty: XP next month to preview the content for the first time.

Unfortunately it's only a matter of time before "The Activision Curse" hits this franchise. Lets take a look at the Tony Hawk series, and Guitar Hero series. Once these games stood high over all that dared compare, then, Activision happened. So lets have another look, shall we? Lets combine what Halo Reach and Halo Waypoint do, and add a fee.... yeah that should get people to spend more on a worthless bragging tool.... COME ON! GROW UP! I completely agree with Some_Guy05, playing for fun is becoming an extinct theory. I'm glad I can say I am in that dying breed. RIP COD, Activision has their grip on you now.

the video game industry is getting too serious. what ever happened to playing games for simple entertainment. 1.Turn on game console, 2. Get your cod fix for a bit, 3. Turn it off, 4. Make whoopi to the gf. Also, in the hopes that players actually have a social life and are getting their daily excersis.

I don't gonna waste my money on Elite, but yeah i will buy MW3. I wanna give it another chance, i just really hope that there are some good updates that i like. I liked Black Ops more than MW2, i think i'm the only one who thinks that :P

While I am getting MW3 , I am not wasting money on "Elite." I don't have the money in this recession and it doesn't seem worth it.

Why the need for "Hollywood Talent" ? We just want COD no need to bring in all star voice actors.

What's with all the gimmick there throwing at this game. Top Hollywood talent, just make a good game and people will buy it. No need for all this irrelevant junk that doesn't have anything to do with game play.

You know why tons of people will pay for this, its because of the same reason why Justin Biebers videos have more than 3 million views ,and also why transformers movies are so famous.

Another excellent chance for Gamespot to fluff CoD, drop big Hollywood names, and provide absolutely zero information about anything anyone cares about. You are the rock that I cling to, GS.
