While it's fair to say that Nintendo's Wii and DS have a large slice of the casual gaming market, both Sony and Microsoft have offered numerous games that appeal to more than just core gamers. Sony's Buzz! and Screenlife's Scene It? titles have offered players a chance to challenge friends in a gameshow-style quiz, complete with hand buzzers, in the comfort of their own home. However, until now, both of these titles have been exclusive to their respective consoles.

Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that Scene It? Bright Lights! Big Screen! will be the first multiplatform game in the movie trivia series, arriving on the PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360. WBIE will be handling worldwide distribution of the new game, taking over responsibilities from Microsoft Game Studios. Meanwhile, development duties have been passed from Krome Studios to Artificial Mind & Movement, who is also responsible for the soon-to-be-released shooter Wet.

Bright Lights! Big Screen! is set to feature all-new trivia from recent film releases, as well as classics from the last four decades. The game is also said to include a plethora of improvements, including new puzzle types, a new simplified interface, and a "unique" minigame contest. The game will also feature 12 new characters, a brand-new game host, and improved single-player gameplay. Local multiplayer will be available, although it's not yet clear whether online multiplayer, which was supported in the previous title, Box Office Smash, will make an appearance. A release date for the title has yet to be announced.
