Saw II: Flesh & Blood spills October 19

Konami piecing together Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 horror puzzle game just in time for theatrical launch of Saw VII 3D.

by

Construction on the latest Saw game has nearly wrapped, as Konami today nailed down a release date for its horror puzzle sequel. Set for release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 19, Saw II: Flesh & Blood will arrive in stores just in time for Halloween and the theatrical debut of Saw VII 3D.

The Saw games have vomited viscera into a genre typically defined by tile swapping and falling blocks.

Saw II casts players as the son of the original movie's ill-fated protagonist. As in Konami's first Saw title, gameplay will consist of puzzles, minigames, and a dash of fighting as players try to guide the hero safely through the booby-trap-filled world of the serial killer Jigsaw.

Konami is drawing on the Saw films for more than simple inspiration. The publisher is also borrowing the annualized emphasis of the movie series. Saw II: Flesh & Blood will arrive in stores barely a year after the October 2009 launch of the original game.

First one was one of the most glitchy games I've ever played but I don't care, had lots of fun beating the game. I believe that if they've made a sequel and Konami again put his name on it, this can be good, I don't think they would release two broken games (at least I hope so).

i Bet non of you guys even played the first saw game,im actually looking forward to this one. even if you played the first one there was like no chance to beat the game.but i think it was worth playing, since konami worked on it.

@mike ezm yea thats true but they have some good stories in those games and great gameplay. if saw 2 is anything like the first then its just gonna be more puzzles and pointless killing. i liked the first 3 movies though:)

I thought the first Saw movie was pretty good. The game never played it, looked too crappy. Maybe they would do better if this was sold as DLC on XBL and PSN?

Guys just let them have their fun, this will be the game that helps that find out if they are really wanted or not. Who knows anything could happen.

I love the Saw movies, and I love violent video games, but for some reason...this just doesn't sit well with me.

nickythenewt21, it's really fun to blab out anything random that comes to your mind without even a single glance at the topic whatsoever huh?

I have nothing wrong with this. I had the first game and it was rather fun and had some good moments. I would suggest renting the game over owning it as replayability is not a strong pointl

@ nickythenewt21 You're an ignorant tool who knows nothing about the Saw movies. Star Wars is that way, geek.

I completed the first one, it was pretty easy, I think I'll do it again with this game.. Bring on the Saw

Seriously? Another SAW game? You know the first one wasn't awful, but honestly, if they wanted people to buy it they would let them play as the new Jigsaw or something, setting traps [Evil laugh] and capturing victims with a built-in Jigsaw voice changer. Just imagine the creativity of the traps the community would come up with: "Tommy, you feed off the lives of your co-workers as manager of the local Pizza place when you cut their pay for the wrong reasons; but today, you become the one fed off! Right now you are trapped in an elevator, unless you reach into the hot pizza sauce and get the key, the room will be flooded with olive oil."

personally i think the movies were well thought out, great endings make you want to watch the next one, ill admit they are getting to be repetitive but this is for the real fans of saw, and judging by having a second game there are quite a few fans of this series

@theone332 i did...good game cept for 2 flaws that ruined the entire game which i hope they fix with the second one....replayed traps and HORRIBLE combat

This series is still alive, film-wise? Jesus man. Those movies were never good. "Get the key from the inside of your eye in 60 seconds or die." If you were smart, you'd realize that you can't get a key from the inside of your eye in 60 seconds and the thing snapping your head will cause a quick death so you won't feel anything. That crap ain't scary, just disgusting. Also, Jigsaw is a lame villain. "Oh look at me I got raped when I was kid, sympathize with me audience! This is a legitimate reason for me to kill random people! I have a cool puppet!" It's not a legitimate reason and your puppet sucks. It isn't scary, it's just creepy. Like local neighborhood rapist creepy, not I'm gonna murder you creepy. Go take some lessons from Hannibal Lecter you pomp.

How can anyone hate it? I am a fan of the films and I thought the game tied in nicely with the films despite the films having a very well connected and through out plot. Only things I hate about it is that the violence was dummed down (Sadly couldnt put out an Adults only version of it) and the combat was horrible.

The game actually sold enough to warrant a sequel???

I'm surprised that some people even bothered to buy the first one.

i think the first movie was the best it wasnt overly gory (aside from the end scene) now most horror movies just really over do the gore. people complain about violent video games but i think movies like the later saw movies contribute to that much more! considering that in general human likeness in video games are more like puppets rather then looking like real people at the moment..!

@controlfreak25 Nah, after the 3rd movie the series died in my opinion.

I think the first game was great, because if you are a fan of the movies, it is good fun. The sequel has me saying, "I want to play a game."
