iGames Publishing and S2 Games have announced that those who preorder the game online at EBGames.com or GameStop.com are guaranteed a spot in the current phases of the Savage beta test. This incentive is designed to give those most interested in the game not only an early look at it, but also the opportunity to influence the game's final stages of development. The latest beta version of Savage is said to include a number of game enhancements as well as the first look at the second playable faction, the beast horde.

"We really wanted to find a way to reward the people who went out and preordered the game," said Jesse Hayes, COO of S2 Games. "What better way than with a chance to play the game before launch and for free...and these are exactly the kind of gamers whose comments will help us make Savage the best game that it can be."

Savage is a multiplayer-focused game that combines the competitive elements of both first-person shooters and real-time strategy games. While most players work together in first-person combat, each team is led by a commander who controls worker units, builds structures, researches weapons, and gives commands to the team's frontline fighters. Savage is scheduled for release this summer.
