Atlus USA today announced that Samurai Western is now available in stores for the PlayStation 2. The game is the third chapter in the Way of the Samurai series, and it was developed by Spike and Acquire, who are continuing their partnership with the upcoming Ninja Project.

Samurai Western leaves the Japanese countryside from the previous Way of the Samurai episodes and heads to the lawless American West of the 1800s. Protagonist Gojiro Kiryu wanders into town armed not with a six-shooter but with a katana. Gamers will play as Kiryu through 16 different missions to bring justice back to the Old West. A special two-player mode lets gamers play as a samurai and gunman.

Samurai Western is rated M for Mature and retails for $39.99. For more information on the game, saunter over to GameSpot's previous coverage.
