Eidos Interactive has released new screenshots from and information on Salt Lake 2002. The game, which is being developed by Attention to Detail, is the officially licensed game of the next year's Winter Games and includes six Olympic events. They are Men's Alpine Skiing Downhill, Women's Alpine Skiing Slalom, Men's Two-man Bobsleigh, Women's Freestyle Skiing Aerials, Men's Ski Jumping K120 Individual, and Men's Snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom. Modes of play, in both single- and multiplayer, are Olympic, classic, tournament, and freeform.

"The Olympic Games is one of the few sports licences that has true worldwide appeal," said Mike McGarvey, CEO of Eidos. "With such a high profile license and our sales and marketing expertise, we are confident of building upon the success of Sydney 2000 - The official video game of the 2000 Olympic Games."

Salt Lake 2002 is the second game to be released under Eidos Interactive's exclusive six-year license of both the Winter and Summer Olympics.
