Saints Row and Dead Island parent company Koch Media has issued a statement to confirm that the organization--including its games division Deep Silver--is not for sale after a report from a German newspaper suggested it was.

"We have seen a recent report suggesting Koch Media is for sale. We are happy to say that Koch Media (including its premium games publishing label Deep Silver) is well-financed, profitable, and a stable and growing business in the entertainment industry," the company said in a statement on Twitter.

Koch Media, which is based in Germany, has its hand in multiple entertainment sectors, including movies, video games, and various non-gaming software products. The company went on to suggest that other outfits have made acquisition offers, but stressed that it's not looking to sell, at least not right now.

"Independent companies like us understandably attract interest," the company said. "As a matter of fact, we ourselves are always on the lookout for responsible acquisition opportunities in the fields of publishing and distribution to accelerate our growth. But we are not for sale."

The German newspaper Handelsblatt reported on Friday, July 4, that Deep Silver had brought on financial services company UBS to help find a buyer.

Deep Silver recently announced that it will publish Crytek's upcoming military first-person shooter Homefront: The Revolution, which launches in 2015 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The company is also behind Dead Island 2 and Escape Dead Island. On top of those, Koch Media paid $22.3 million for the Saints Row franchise and developer Volition during the THQ bankruptcy auction last year, so you can expect there is more of the over-the-top open-world series on the way, too.
