GodGames and Human Head Studios have announced Rune: The Halls of Valhalla, an official expansion pack for Rune. The Rune expansion will include a few new multiplayer modes such as headball, where players score points by throwing the severed limbs of their enemies into a goal. There's also an expanded deathmatch mode named arena, in which players compete one-on-one against different opponents. A total of 33 new maps are included with Rune: The Halls of Valhalla, and seven of them were designed by fans of the original game. In addition, the expansion will include some new gameplay enhancements like better shields and the ability to deflect attacks with other weapons. The expansion pack will be released as a stand-alone product, complete with access to the original Rune maps in multiplayer mode.
