Rockstar Games announced on Wednesday that it expects to release four games based on the Austin Powers license for the Game Boy and one for the Dreamcast within this fiscal year. The company has previously announced that it will release games based on the Austin Powers license for the Nintendo 64, Sony PlayStation, and PC and has hinted at other next-generation platforms such as the PlayStation2 as well. Clearly, the company hopes to capitalize off its recent acquisition of the worldwide rights to create software based on the Austin Powers line of movies.

"The ability to bring such a prolific base of characters and themes such as those contained in the Austin Powers films to the rapidly selling Dreamcast and Game Boy Color platforms is a tremendous thrill for Rockstar," said Sam Houser, president of Rockstar Games. "We look forward to making a great series of games."

The first titles based on the Austin Powers license are expected to release in July.
