Songs from alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins are now available as downloadable content for Ubisoft's guitar game Rocksmith 2014, the publisher has announced.

The Smashing Pumpkins DLC pack features five songs, including some of the band's most recognizable songs. These are "Today," "Bullet With Butterfly Wings," "1979," "Tonight, Tonight," and "Disarm."

The songs are available for $3 each or through the five-song pack for $12 today on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and through Steam for PC and Mac.

Rocksmith 2014, a sequel to 2011's original Rocksmith, was released earlier this month. Its on-disc tracklist features 55 songs spanning numerous genres and eras.

All DLC purchased for the original Rocksmith is compatible with the new game at no extra cost.

Unlike in Rock Band or Guitar Hero, in Rocksmith, players can plug in a real guitar or bass with a standard quarter-inch jack directly into an Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, or Mac. For more on Rocksmith 2014, check out GameSpot's review.
