Rocket League Video Shows What the Game Would Be Like in Real Life

Rocket League takes to the streets.

Rocket League is a sport that would only work inside of a video game. But a new video released today has offered a look at what it would be like if it could happen in the real world.

The video, produced by YouTube channel CorridorDigital, starts out looking as if it's going to show how mundane real, ground-bound RC cars knocking a soccer ball around would be. That doesn't remain the case for long, as CG effects allow the cars to start performing the same kinds of maneuvers that make the game so fun.

If you're interested in how this was made, there's an interesting behind-the-scenes video that explores the making of the video, including the way they accomplished the visual effects. You can also check out GameSpot's Rocket League video from earlier this year that had an alternative interpretation for the game in real life.

Rocket League was released this past summer on PC and PS4. It recently added its second DLC Pack, and later this week will introduce another DLC car, Back to the Future's DeLorean. It'll also now offering Halloween-themed items that can be unlocked for a limited time.
