Rise of Nations beta test sign-ups begin

Microsoft begins accepting applications to beta-test its upcoming real-time strategy game.

Microsoft has started accepting applications for the beta test of Rise of Nations, an upcoming real-time strategy game under development at Big Huge Games. Interested players have until 11am PST on Monday, February 17, to sign up at the official Rise of Nations Web site for a chance at one of the 1,000 beta-testing slots. Applicants will be asked to sign up for Microsoft Passport or login to Passport if they already have an account.

The beta version of Rise of Nations includes 10 playable nations out of the 18 total nations to be included in the final game. Three tutorials, a campaign, and online multiplayer capability are enabled as well.

Rise of Nations is a real-time strategy game that encompasses the scope of human history, from the dawn of civilization on up through the modern information era. For more details, please see our previous coverage of the game.
