Ripcord Games Signs Spec Ops

Ripcord Games will be distributing Zombie Interactive's upcoming action game Spec Ops: Rangers Lead the Way in North America. Spec Ops, considered by many to be the successor of sorts to Electronic Arts' classic Seal Team, features a number of missions in a fully three-dimensional environment utilizing U S Army Ranger tactics and equipment in a variety of different missions. Each of the Rangers' movements is based on motion-captured human movements, with photo sourced based imaging for clothing, as well as realistic ambient and weapons sounds.

Gameplay can consist of first- or third-person perspectives, with 3Dfx Voodoo support for some gorgeously rendered environments and characters. The focus of Spec Ops will be realistic combat, tactics, weapons, and strategies that the Rangers use in order to accomplish a mission.

Spec Ops: Rangers Lead the Way should be done in April, although a release date has not been officially set.
