Hyperkin's retro gaming machine the RetroN 5 has been delayed to Q1 2014.
Set to launch in December, the company found that some packaged units had faulty pins, and is now delaying the product to correctly resolve the issue.
The RetroN 5 has slots for NES, SNES, GameBoy Advance, Genesis/Mega Drive, and Famicom cartridges, both NTSC and PAL, and features its own Bluetooth controller alongside support for original NES, SNES, and Genesis peripherals.
Another key feature in the retro device is its ability to output through HDMI, which would allow people a relatively easy way to play their old games on modern television sets.
“We apologize for the inconvenience,” said product manager Lawrence Lee. “Hyperkin would like to thank you for all the support you have given us throughout the development of the RetroN 5. We are looking forward to its release, estimated to be within the first quarter of 2014, as soon as the issue has been resolved.”

I bet it smells like 1995.
Every time I get something new, like Ipad, Wii, Pc, I, for some reason, spend all my time making sure it can play nes and mame and stuff. I spend more time and money retrofying my new tech and never play the games. (I m about halfway through secret of mana on ipad though) feels nice
is this real ?
Looks like someone didn't get either system.

^ Contradiction. If they didn't wanted to waste money on Nintendo then they wouldn't have never bother buying the classic Nintendo games in the first place. They would never bother buying this consoles ether.
I can see them selling tens of these
Deniz Ozz come on man new consoles hands on, forget about #PS4
First time I've heard about this system. Sounds pretty cool.

Damn, love retro gaming. Gonna keep my eye on this
Not a problem. Thank you Hyperkin for making the right call and waiting to give us something even better. I preordered mine last week. I can wait.
I would have killed for this back in the 80's.. The RF modulator line-up behind my TV was hilarious... NES, Atari, Master System(Sega), then the 90's came.. Add in SNES and Genesis. Wretched wire jungle from hell... Add in cable converter, VCR, Stereo system, and the Sega channel adapter... >_
Achei esse console bacana... Lucas Bragagnolo Lucas Thrun Diego Schneider O que acharam???
Why waste money on Nintendo? period. Controller...roms.. emulator.. done. As for those old cartridges people collect/play/still have from childhood? Put them in Storage...display cases..etc. Don't add to their hours of possible failure from usage. (I say that respectfully..my first home console was NES back in 87' ..)

Not the same Kevin. Not the same.
Dude I want one I nvr knew about this nice soo gonna get this.
Funny thing is yaw REALLY gonns buy this bs
Just how expensive is this thing going to be?
Jake Albert emulator on a pc... free Rom online... no need to waste a cent
"old games that no one wants to play anymore"...........someone is uninformed about how hot 80s/90s stuff is right now! People will pay $50 for a Super Nintendo with a controller and cables. Gotta love the DERPs with the "Old systems are worthless when the new ones come out" attitude!
Some of us "old folks" also have the original games still too, but broken/lost/stolen consoles (oh stolen Atari 2600 and cartridge collection, how I miss thee!!)
looks like it should of came out to compete with the sega megadrive or gamecube
LOL! YES! XD
Am I the meanest? Am I the prettiest? Am I the baddest mofo lowdown around this town?
ahh i can see the problem! it's just a two dimensional drawing.
looks like a hot-plate
You do know we are close to the digital age. It's crazy how things change. Change is scary, am I right?
Because some people actually like to collect and play the old cartridges! This saves some room on the tv stand. I know its crazy right?!
How much are these to be sold for? Depending in the price I want one as I know of a games hop that sells retro games and they have a lot of titles.
ever heard of frameskip?
So we're going back to the past? I can imagine on how expensive this console going to be.
Sum1 should let MS know that this is what your suppose to do
Brendon
www.vizzed.com Just saying.
Nothing beats using an actual controller and cartridge my friend.
This thing is awesome. Emulators are cool but nothing beats actually using a controller and cartridge. The ouya did bad because it is a stupid console to begin with. It was pretty much the android store for more money.
Troll
This can compete with the PS4 and Xbone imo
Some people like using the controller
What the heck is this thing?
It doesn't look that bad and who cares what it looks like. It what it dies that makes it so damn awesome
lets also not forget this is almost some random machine that not many people have heard about, its got a reputation to build.
Me neither! I had no idea this was a thing XD I am totally getting it
And they are going to release GameCube games and more N64 games in 2014.
So does the eShop. It also has GBA, SNES, GB, GBC, NES, and Genesis games.
Because you can't get all NES games and if you knew anything. You would know the ones on eShop aren't even close to being as hard as when they first came out. Plus this doesn't just play NES, it even play's SNES, GB, Genesis and the imports.
People that buy PC components (especially motherboards) sometimes get multiple DOA replacements in a row. It's way worse on that front than it is for consoles.
who cares about this trash system. I got my Xbox One and soon will have a ps4 both are better than this water down crap machine.
