Retailers to answer Call of Cthulhu this month

Bethesda Softworks announces shipping window for its Lovecraftian first-person survival horror game for the PC.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth for the Xbox may not have won any of GameSpot's Best of 2005 awards for which it was nominated (Most Surprisingly Good Game, Best Use of a Creative License, Best Use of Upset, Disheveled Men), but it might get another shot at recognition in GameSpot's Best of 2006 awards. Bethesda Softworks today announced that the PC version of Dark Corners of the Earth is set to ship to North American stores the week of March 27, bringing all the H.P. Lovecraft-inspired survival horror exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat of the original Xbox title to PC gamers. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's full review of the Xbox edition. Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth is rated M for Mature and will retail for $39.99.

Frankeyser, It's just my opinion alright. I have nothing against the game itself, only the graphics. I used to play games like FFX, and I didn't even pay attention to the graphics. Now when I see a game, the first things I see is the graphics. There are only a select few that I look at being good whether or not the graphics are that great. I've never heard anything about this game, so the graphics were the first thing to catch my eye.

I love Lovecraft, but was not too impressed with the Xbox version. I may pass.

I like the XBox version of this title and I do not see myself picking up the PC version. Granted, I have only scratched the surface of the title and have not really gone deep into the core of the game, but once I get caught up a little more with other games I am currently playing, I will return to this one. Knowing me, I will even write a review for it.

Dammit! Not another March release! MP:H and KH2 have already shot my wallet to pieces! Mayhaps $40 is a bit steep ......

the Xbox version was very shody. Hopefully they ironed out the glitches for the PC version
