Originally released in 2005 for GameCube and PlayStation 2, Resident Evil 4 broke new ground with its over-the-shoulder camera. You can check out nine images from the re-release in the gallery above; these images were shared on the official Resident Evil Facebook page today.

Capcom has already re-released Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 on PS4 and Xbox One. Those games are available for $20, while Resident Evil 4 will also have the same price tag.

The re-releases haven't gone perfectly well. Recently, it was reported that Resident Evil 5's new version had multiple problems, including frame rate issues.

In other news about Resident Evil, Capcom announced Resident Evil 7 at E3 last month; it comes out in January 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A free demo is available now on PS4, but you need to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber to get it.

2016 marks the 20th anniversary of the Resident Evil franchise, as the first game debuted in 1996 in Japan. Looking ahead, Capcom is remaking Resident Evil 2 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but a release date has not been announced.
