I was really excited about this game...  then I saw it uses a combo-style combat system... and was immediately disinterested.  Couldn't they have come up with something better than this?  Maybe I'm just dense, but I have never been able to get into games where the combat is combo-based, it just always come out feeling like a generic fighting game.  It really sucks about the combat system, because the setting and premise really looked cool.

looks to me like Miranda from Mass Effect found her way into a futuristic Uncharted game.
has my interest, if only because i love sci-fi

and i do get the feeling it will be a game that if they dont change up the dialogue some, you will learn to hate the guards who repeat the same thing every 5 seconds. just in the showing alone.

Combat looks a little clumsy, like a button mash fighter. If they are copying batman they need to slow down the movement some to make them better to follow and what it really needs is that if she is going to be so outgunned in the melee department they could at least give a system for grapples or counters.

and i dont know about you guys, but i doubt people would be saying full sentences while being punched in the face.

Can definitely see the Batman combat influence.  That being said, I liked the combat in Batman, so if this mimics that combined with the custom combo set up, it could turn out to be quite fun.  I like the idea of a female protagonist and the story seems pretty intriguing.  Hopefully I can check out a playable demo before I drop sixty bucks on it though.

I agree with comments from below. The combat looks interesting but is not that great. What does intrigue me is the story...

As much as i love the concept behind this game i can't deny that the combat looks really really REALLY bad  :(

Lol I would buy this just coz its got a female protagonist... am tired of playing bulky males in almost every game... Next time can i have an homicidal robot? Or a good natured human loving but discriminated against alien creature? :D

If I'm to use those videos as a reference, totally forgettable.

Hmm.. I like the idea, but then at the same time the game tries to be too many things at once.. A story-teller, combat, exploration, survival..  It's like Batman/Uncharted/Ensalved, all mashed in to one.

It looks good, but then everything gameplay-wise seems to be a tad 'simple'.

Can't decide on this one.. The voice acting is also pretty piss poor :/

Looks like a mega hit to me, especially the PC version, watched some trailers and it looked MUCH better then this console crap.

The combat looks generic because its just the beginning, if you watch a trailer from a later point, she gets all sorts of power ups that you can swap mid combat

Similar to Enslaved? I'm sold. Loved that game.

Seems like I am the only one seeing the similarities between this game and "Enslaved". Does not seem to be about that combat as much as discovering the world and character development.

Will keep and eye en this, although we already have "The Last of Us" that month (different, but also interesting as hell)

the egg thing on the back of her neck needs to go away. the combat looks kinda lame and the platforming looks bad with the arrows. I'm not much for platforming.

I will say that I do like the over all cyberpunk sci-fi feel to the game and the fact the main char is a woman is cool Sexy woman at that. My only main issue with watching the videos is the same as the other people have said. The fighting is gen and that may hurt the game it self. I will most likely try the game out because it does look promising but like one other person said if your fighting alot of guys at the same time I would much prefer something else rather then punching. I mean yes I do enjoy the batman fighting style but even batman had other weapons then his fist. If the story line is not that great I really dont see this game getting a good rating.

The game has an interesting premise for sure. But with May being just around the corner, the combat looks very unpolished in my opinion.

I like the cyberpunk theme, and the memory angle could be interesting, but the voice action is terrible, you can just feel the mocap behind the animations, and the writing feels stilted (or at least sounds that way coming out of these voice actors). Combat and platforming also seem pretty generic right now...which is a shame because I REALLY want to like this game...

Looks extremely promising to me.

The combat looks very, very generic, thanks Batman for ruining every action combat after your excellent gameplay, and thank you too Sleeping Dogs... So yeah, the fighting looks forgettable... But the rest of the game seems very very very fresh, I love the William Gibson/Bruce Sterling cyberpunk feel it has, I'm first in line to buy this game!!!

I feel like must of you guys its interesting but its generic, playable or buyable? maybe, we'll if it can hook me

paparolo

The story seems pretty interesting.

Voice acting is convincing.

The ass amount is very alluring.

However the animations and combat look very generic, i had a strong feeling of deja vu when seeing her move around climbing, fighting and whatnot, what i saw and i liked though it something that seems like the DmC/Bayonetta dodge system, i like it because it makes combat very entertaining and dynamic, keeping it paced as opposed, for example the dodge rolls of Kratos on GoW that left you quite far from your enemies to keep combat flowing.

What i saw and did not like and sadly is a trend on all games, is the insane amount of markers pointing you to objects of interest, in the second video there's one marker with a big "DANGER!!" on a broken steam pipe, this takes away from the game immersion and makes the game even more linear than it already can be, i don't like this trend at all.

I'm interested on this game tho, i hope story isn't shallow as it is mainly what keeps me hooked to it, after dat ass of course :P

I have not made up my mind yet, however, the more I see, my sway towards a maybe.

Quicktime events are one of my biggest pet hates in gaming today.

The other 2 are cut scenes that snatch the controls from you in the middle of playing and fighting sequences where the characters shoot light out of their hands and feet when they strike their opponent.

LogicSavanT

Remember me?  I probably won't.  I am not sure you can call that exploration.  The only thing more generic than the combat was the combat dialogue.  I have nothing against linear style gameplay.  But when you go that route the focus needs to be more on story.  These previews gave no hints to what the plot would be.  It would seem that emphasizing story would be the best way to garnish some buzz about this game.  Honestly, it is the only aspect of this game that I am marginally interested in.  And there are alot of really interesting directions the story could go.

gutworm

i hate games when i often lose control over character just to see a cut scene. i HATE those kind of cut scenes! i usually quit playing it very fast when it does that.

LoG-Sacrament

Meh. Exploration looks pretty lame. It's hard to actually call it exploration when the environments are all narrow pathways with arrows everywhere telling the player where to go. The combat AI looks silly when they surround the player character and then attack her one at a time.

I hope they improve the combat and make it similar with Batman Arkham City.

Love the SCI-FI set and the overall look of this game, i going to give it a try for sure.

Good points:

1. Decent 3D camera

2. Decent voice acting

3. Some cinematics

4. Nice ass :)

Bad points:

1. Linear story (Morals? Factions? Dialogue choices? Romance paths? Anyone there?...)

2. Too much jump and run (Makes exploration tiresome and repetitive)

3. Insipid animated combat (May ruin the game as a whole)

Cthulad

I was hoping for a better combat system. Even hit detection needs to be ramped up. She looked like either hitting a droid through the chest, or hitting a droid about 6 inches away. 3 hit combos are cool, and all, but if I have to sit through a ton of enemies like the third video, I want something moe than punch face, punch gut, double push to abdomen, poll vault over the enemy repeat.

The memory part was what got me intrigued at first, but with the fighting portions of this game, I think it will be forgettable. I see this in the bargain bin right away.

@rem234 Yeah I agree, it's really annoying. I also find that bright, floaty thing in the back of her neck to be distracting.

They perhaps should have done like in Dead Space where the HUD elements are built into the suit.

rem234
rem234

@MalakTawus the combat itself is fine enough, but the system moves a little too fast so it feels like it lacks weight, even for a skinny thing as she is. And the climbing does not feel human, moves too fast and awkwardly. Its unfortunate that the animation doesnt stand up at the moment.

If they are taking from batman, they should not that batman moved deliberately and only fast when necessary, which they slowed down so that people could follow it better. And so that if felt like the weight behind the attacks felt appropriate.

Bhemont
Bhemont

@MalakTawus Yeah it's not really impressive is it, I hope it's not their main selling point.  Otherwise  it would be really easy to forget about this game if that was the case. I'm hoping for a story or something new, something different.  But I'm not expecting much, still looks alright, will keep my eye out for this game.

@paparolo You should get a reality check pal. That voice acting is absolutely terrible and those animations look like they never even used motion cap.

This a bargain bin game trying to sell itself as the next Assassins Creed.

@shanethewolf It makes you wonder if the people making the game actually play games doesnt it?

@gutworm Me too! It's the reason I stopped playing Assassin's Creed 3 and Max Payne 3. If I want to watch a movie, I'd watch a movie.
