Remember Me delayed

Capcom's future-set action game pushed from May to June 4 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Capcom today delayed its future-set action game Remember Me by a month. The game is now slated to launch for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in North America on June 4, with a European release to follow June 7.

Remember Me was previously scheduled to launch in May.

Capcom announced Remember Me (formerly titled Adrift) during Gamescom last summer. The publisher is planning to build the game into a "major franchise," with subsequent releases on next-generation platforms.

A third-person game developed by DontNod Entertainment, Remember Me has players taking on the role of Nilin, an "elite memory hunter." According to Capcom, Nilin not only is a physical threat, but also boasts a special ability that allows her to break into people's minds where she can steal or change memories.

I hope they use the extra time to polish the combat. The last few gameplay vids left me unimpressed.

Let's start a poll: how many months before Capcom releases Remember Me: Ultimate Edition?

Devils-DIVISION

   Game looks way too dated; rugged animations; porno-like voice acting--I dunno. The game just isn't impressive.

   That said, I do want it to be good, but I think Capcom should focus on turning Dragon's Dogma into a franchise, and bring us a sequel to a hugely surprising game last year; my personal game of 2012!

I'm cautiously optimistic about this game, it looks like it could go either way.

Here's hoping that Remember Me is being pushed back to buy developers some time to polish up some of that weak gameplay

They probably didn't have time to get all the DLC on the disc... had to push back the date.

No one noticing how she looks a lot like Joanna Dark did in Perfect Dark Zero?

I think it's for the best really. The ideas behind this are pretty good but all the gameplay I watched just looked like it was lacking in some way.

Come on why they don't reveal at once that they'll be "delaying" their games to PS4 and Xbox 720???

Capcom plans of building this into a major franchise? Don't major franchises just emerge from people liking the series? Since when has there been a completely pre-planned major franchise? C'mon Capcom, just make something fun and your "major franchise" will appear.

Way too many puns coming out of this. I hope I don't remember them.

It has probably already been rushed like f**k by Capcom.

Capcom would never spend on a forward thinking game like Remember Me even a tenth of what they did on those bland Resident Evil 5 and 6 games. So I fear for this game, as much as I want it to be awesome AND refreshing AND polished...

So many games getting delayed! Only for the better I suppose.

Pretty much a signal to not remember Capcom for the next following months.

@Kyrylo

XD   I know right.  This game is going to bomb.  This game is already forgotten and it hasn't even been released yet.  Remember me? Remember what?

@Devils-DIVISION Well you could get the expansion in two months, all you have to do is...wait...buy the game all over again? Like UMvC3? Capcom sure loves its fans! lulz!

@PSYCHOV3N0M Yeah, so do I. I'm looking forward to Remember Me, Watch Dogs, Star Wars 1313 and other future releases, but by the time I'm finished with my backlog, those sci-fi settings won't look so futuristic anymore, lol.

@starerik No one noticing how just about every male/female protagonist looks a lot like other male/female protagonists?

pip3dream

@ZERO_X02 mass effect, assassins creed, gears of war, uncharted are some examples of "planned" franchises-  The planning is the 'easy' party, it's the doing and developing that is the hard.  Like you brought up, if this game flops, then you can imagine that 'planned' franchise of remember me would be considered very carefully.

Devils-DIVISION

@kohle36

Sure it's a re-release, it's not the first time in the gaming world, what's your point? Aren't GotY editions basically the same sh!t? And at least we finally have an expansion pack, after being bombarded with DLC's by every publisher for the past 5 years. For AU$40 I'll definitely be getting it.

Devils-DIVISION
Devils-DIVISION

@kohle36

Could've saved yourself from such a boring rant by just saying, "I'm not buying it". Bland pragmatic activism at its finest though, you're an inspiration to all of us who can't but not play the games we like. Now go to sleep.

kohle36
kohle36

@Devils-DIVISION Purchase away my friend! At least you've cleared up a mystery for me as to why Capcom is able to continue these sorts of practices. Out of sheer morbid curiosity: what do you consider the difference to be between 'dlc' and an 'expansion pack', aside from the price tag?

Nevermind, I just remembered how Capcom handles its dlc. $2 for 8 new hairstyles! $4 for a palette swap! No wonder you think $40 for a new dungeon and a handful of new enemies is a steal. Nevermind that you can't download the new content at a lower price point to add to the game you already bought. Nope, all the early adopters and serious fans (you know, the people who actually made the game successful) are expected to go out and repurchase the entire game to get access to it. You seem to have a severe case of Capholm syndrome, friend.
