THQ has announced plans to unveil the PS2-only sequel to the PC and PS2 first-person shooter Red Faction at the upcoming E3, which will get underway next week. The company has also released a few new details about the game.
Red Faction II puts the player in the role of Alias, a demolitions expert. Alias will be assisted by a five-member team. Like in the original game, there will be a number of vehicles to control and several different types of weapons. The game will run on an enhanced version of the geo-mod engine that powered the original, allowing for the same type of destructible level structure that made the first game unique.
Red Faction II is scheduled for release this holiday season.
