Red Dead Redemption Playable Now on Xbox One

Rockstar's critically acclaimed open-world game officially supports backwards compatibility on Xbox One.

Red Dead Redemption is available now to play on Xbox One through backwards compatibility, developer Rockstar Games has confirmed.

Those that own the Xbox 360 version on disc can put it into the Xbox One to download the required compatibility update. For those that have the digital version, it will appear in the Ready to Install section of the Xbox One dashboard.

All versions of Red Dead Redemption are compatible, so you can also play Undead Nightmare or Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition.

If you don't have the game, Red Dead Redemption is on sale this week on Xbox 360 for $7.50 for Gold members; for everyone else, it's available for $10.50.

Developed by Rockstar San Diego, Red Dead Redemption was released in May 2010 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game received rave reviews, including a 9.5/10 from GameSpot.
