Red Dead Redemption Coming to PS4 (and PC Kinda) Through PlayStation Now

Rockstar's 2010 western Red Dead Redemption is finally coming to PlayStation 4 and PC, but maybe not in the way fans might had hoped for. Sony announced today that the game's PlayStation 3 version will be added to the PlayStation Now streaming catalog "soon."

That's all the information that Sony shared in its blog post, so we'll have to wait to find out when the game is coming and what it will cost to rent or buy.

PlayStation Now is a backwards compatibility solution of sorts, allowing you to pay to stream PS3 games on the PS4 and other supported devices, like PC. This is not the PC version of Red Dead Redemption fans have been waiting for, however, as it's the PS3 edition being streamed to your computer.

Rockstar's Red Dead Revolver was recently added to PS4 as a PS2 Classic.

Red Dead Redemption is already playable on Xbox One through backwards compatibility. On Microsoft's console, if you already bought the game on Xbox 360, you don't have to pay for it again. A performance analysis found that Red Dead Redemption played better on Xbox One than Xbox 360.

The first Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer was released today, showing off the game's gorgeous world but not really revealing any details about the story. The game launches in fall 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One--there will be exclusive content on PS4.
