Red Dead Online Adds The Legendary Shadow Buck

There's a new Legendary animal to hunt or sedate in Red Dead Redemption 2. This week's Red Dead Online update introduces the Legendary Shadow Buck to the Annesburg region, along with new customization items, a new Featured Series, and more discounts.

Naturalists can launch the new Legendary Shadow Buck Sighting Mission by visiting Harriet at her shop. The unusual buck has a completely black coat and uniquely dark set of antlers, and typically avoids and flees from humans if disturbed. It has been known to aggressively charge at those who pose a threat, however. If you're able to successfully sedate and sample the Legendary animal, you'll receive a free Vest of your choice and 100 rounds of Sedative Ammo for your next expedition.

Killing and skinning the animal, meanwhile, will reward you with 100 rounds of Express Repeater Ammo. You can also bring the pelt to Gus' store to unlock the Shadow Coat for purchase, which will also reward you with a free Bandolier.

Naturalists who are rank five or above can also ask Harriet about Vitalism Studies. After discovering a new herb, Harriet believes she may have uncovered a way to experience the life of a humble buck. By following the steps in her Buck Vitalism Studies Pamphlet, you can discover how to get weird and have an out-of-body experience. Completing this will also reward you with a free Treasure Map.

This week's Featured Series aims to help you tackle that competitive itch by introducing the Hardcore Takeover Series.
