Westwood Studios has revealed that work on the live-action cinematics for Red Alert 2 has moved into the post-production phase. The filming included a cast of over 20 actors and 17 full sets. While work is finishing up on the cinematics, the rest of the game is coming together on schedule for a mid-October release.

The Red Alert 2 cast includes Kari Wurher (from Sliders and Beverly Hills 90210), Ray Wise (Twin Peaks), Barry Corbin (Northern Exposure, War Games), and Udo Kier (Blade, Armageddon). Wurther plays Tanya, the deadly female commando many fans will recognize from the original Red Alert. On the post-production side, the special effects for the cinematics are by Ron Wild, who previously worked on Godzilla and Babylon 5. The game's 30 cinematic sequences serve as small chapters to the sequel's backstory, in which a Russian alliance invades the US. The game is set in a number of familiar as well as exotic locations, including Washington, D.C., New York City, France and Siberia.
