Though Crackdown was released in February, the only in-game content to be released for the sandbox shooter actually hit Xbox Live Marketplace before the game was in stores. Developer Realtime Worlds hasn't kept the fact that new content is in the works a secret, but has been tight-lipped about its contents.
That all changed today, as Crackdown community liaison "Agent G" gave gamers a first peek at the upcoming downloadable content. Rather than bullet-point details or list off new features, the rep let a picture speak for itself.
On the official Crackdown forums, Agent G provides a link to a single screenshot (pictured, click to expand), saying that it's a look at a new gametype and a new type of vehicle. In the picture, four dune buggies appear to be speeding across an existing piece of Pacific City, the game's setting.
Crackdown's DLC is expected to be released "soon," and no pricing details have yet been revealed.
hmmm looks good i guess but i have to agree with disturbed FLYING VEICHLES!!!!!!!! please lol and some new guns couldnt hurt... maybe a tank of somesort?
I like seeing the publishers support their games with new content well after a game is released. Yeah, I know that it's a money-making scheme, but it's still a nice change for this generation.
comon none of this matters i want air planes and helicopters thats where gta is better comon realtime beat gta into the ground make a futuristic airplane /helicopter thing i meen really the map is big enough im sick of havin to kill myselfe to get places faster
I would like to see a agency motorcycle that maybe when all the way upgraded, it would look something like the bike from ghostrider and like on the movie ride up the side of buildings. I can dream can't I?
I don't really get you guys. Now I might be wrong but I recall them saying something about being loyal to fans and making all content free.
If the new vehicle is that dune bugyy then i think this will be a complete let-down. To be honest i dont think this is 4-player co-op, possibly a four player race or a new race type (i.e actual race not checkpoints). Unless they bring in something amazing insted of some half arsed complilation of exsiting vehicles (Handling/looks of SUV with weaponry/performance of the supercar) i think ill give it a miss.
if there really is 4 player co-op then that would be the coolest thing ever.
The Add-on better be free or I might get rid of it once the halo3 beta test is over in june
i actually heared if the game is shiped with under 1000 gamerscore that the extra content to get you to that 1000 will be free but i think it may just be a rumor

I would love to see an agency motorcycle, that might make this game worth playing again, seeing is that the only reason I still have this game right now is for the Halo3 beta.

This sounds great but they BETTER not release it for money.. I mean they shipped a game with 900 points, the last 100 should be free.

Crackdown is probably my favorite game of all time! Gears of War is close, but I like the open environment of Crackdown! The humor in the Crackdown game is my style, too. Being able to play a "sandbox" kind of game similar to Grand Theft Auto, but with Superhuman abilities where you can upgrade your Strength, Agility, Driving Abilities, and Weapon Targeting abilities is FUN! And being able to get all of those cool new futuristic machine guns, grenades, rocket launchers, and other sort of weapons is just so fun to play! The different sort of vehicles you can drive in the future are great. I have to say that Crackdown was the best brithday present I have received.
from the article's link the heading is "Sneak Peak at a little bit of the downloadable content..." A little bit???? How much more could there be???? besides the new gametype and vehicle? Perhaps there IS a motorcycle too?
i borght the game with the knowledge tht the extra content wud be free as u only get 9 10ths of the game if they say we got to pay just to get sum dune buggie racing, a will pooh in a bag and send it to them!!!!
Would have liked some kind of Agency Motorbike...would be good...and when you get in it morphs...hmm yer...and at driving lvl 4 it could have wings (Activated by B) so when you jump you get more air and hover or something...kinda like a paraglider mixed with motorbike...Ahh Well.
It's not gonna be free u gotta remember that microsoft changed its achievement point system because of Crackdown that allow games to over 1,000 pts. So 99.9% chance that extra content is gonna cost ya.
Who said its going to contribute toward the points? it could just be a multiplayer mode. they could make it charge I hope it does add to more points though. =D atleast then it would be free.
Yea hopefully it expands your leveling cause once you max out its really boring even though you jump far. It would be cool to give us like 2 more levels and be flying lol.
the DL content is free gamespot, all game developeers must give away 1000 free gamerpoints, as crackdown has not got that they MUST give away new free content that allows them get more points (crackdown has 900 points atm) and also they have already said that its going to be free..
if u want to play it again go to the dashboard and go to memory and delete the save im playing it again all im co-op

trickazzmark how can you say its the worst game you played all year? Im guessing you haven't played many. Umm 1 word came to mind when reading your post, SONIC. Sega's new sonic game was billions and billions of times worse then that. I think if you didn't mind that it was a bit short it tended to be fun for the time being.

This was a great game, not much replay ablitity but made me feel like hulk/spiderman. Great fun, hope the DLC is fun also.
racerx737 If you want to start a new story select another account. But yeah, this dlc will be a reason to play crackdown again. The only problem was the shortness/lack of anything to do once complete.
Crackdown was fun, but I can't see playing through it again just because there is a new vehicle.

if it's free I'll get it otherwise I'll pass. Crackdown was a really fun game, it was just way too short. And the fact that you can't start a new story over without deleting the one you already started really sucks too ... unless there's a way to do it w/o deleting, in which case I rescind my previous statement.
i believe that the content should be free.
how is crackdown possibly a bad game...people love gta and saints row...this is just both of those combined and put on steiroids.

It is going to be free. The rule was that if there wasn't 1000 points, the DLC must be free to get it up to a possible 1000 points
Hope it won't cost too much, not that I'm cheap or anything, it's just that I don't want to pay to get the last 100 GS. The game is pretty good but it would be nice to get some DLC for free, or not too far from it.

Wooot! I definitely want new stuff for Crackdown, that game is plain old fun, fun in its simplest form which makes it great. Hope there's more than just new cars, but the 4 player MP should be fun.

For your information Calebcady123, there are people like me that got crackdown for crackdown and not for the Halo 3 beta. Crackdown is a really enjoyable underrated game. Too bad its short but hey the DLC might just add more value to it.

Better be free. Take a page out of Epic's book. Epic sells more anyway
