Razer to Donate Money From That Dragon, Cancer Sales to Charity

That Dragon, Cancer releases this week, and gaming peripheral company Razer has said it will donate all of its proceeds from the sale of the game via its Razer Cortex: Store platform on Razer Forge TV, the Android TV micro-console.

Razer announced that its proceeds will be donated to Morgan Adams Foundation, which directly funds cancer research, and Family House SF, which provides free housing to families who must go to San Francisco for treatment. Razer said the two charities were chosen based on their importance to the Green family, who lost their son Joel to a four-year battle with brain cancer.

"When we first acquired Ouya, it was with the vision of bringing Android gaming to the living room,” said Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan. "By doing that, we now have the opportunity to give back to the community in a big way, by bringing this game to the public and by making sure all our proceeds go right back into the fight against cancer."

That Dragon, Cancer was developed by Joel's parents to retell their son's fight against cancer.

Joel loved pancakes, so his family and the rest of the team at Numinous Games are encouraging everyone to celebrate the launch of the game by hosting a pancake party.

That Dragon, Cancer releases for PC, Mac, and Ouya on January 12.
