[UPDATE] Following the publication of this story, an Ubisoft representative confirmed with GameSpot that Rayman Legends will launch in North America on September 3.

The original story follows below.

Rayman Legends will launch August 30 in Europe, ahead of its previously announced September release window, publisher Ubisoft has confirmed.

No new release date for North America was provided, but games typically launch three days before in the US, meaning Rayman Legends will likely arrive in the region on August 27.

The game was once a Wii U exclusive, but Ubisoft announced in February that the game would also be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

"We heard from many Xbox and PlayStation owners and Rayman fans who told us they really wanted to play Rayman Legends on their current system," Ubisoft said at the time.

Hopefully Vita is next, I love playing these kinds of games on the go, but for some reason I can't get into playing them on the big screen.

@maki206 Haven't all the real rayman games been on pc? Origins looked incredibly sharp on pc be a shame to miss out on legends. It will be a couple of months if we do get it though because of ubisoft.

@maki206I find it strange that they aren't bringing it to PC, given that Origins was and they delayed it solely to release in more platforms. I think they might announce it later.

@nintendoboy16 It's like when one other gamespot article said "sales data were divulged" and then the article didn't divulge the sales data, though I don't know if it was an Eddie article. It's the same thing in some local newspapers. Today it's exactly 60 years since the structure of DNA was revealed and one person said " It has lead to umaginable resources to deal with hereditary diseases" when it should have said unimaginable.
