Random Encounter Live - Kingpin: Life of Crime

Today on Random Encounter, Danny and Johnny crank up Cypress Hill while they play Kingpin: Life of Crime.

Danny's back with your Random Encounter of the day, and this time he's brought Johnny along for the ride. Today, they'll be checking out the infamous Kingpin: Life of Crime, featuring the Quake II engine and a Cypress Hill soundtrack. Anyone else feeling a wave of nostalgia for the late 90s coming over them?

Got any suggestions of games you'd like to see featured in the show? Let us know in the comments!

Bagman multiplayer was sooo much fun. The whole idea of teams gathering cash to put in their safes and all the robbing and stealing that went on to get each others cash was fantastic. It was a great twist on the capture the flag idea. I played many hours of this until the popularity started going down and it was really hard to find a decent game. I was really sad when it ended.

I brought my first graphics card for this beast... i was pretty young and a pc noob at the time, saved all my "work experience" (in uk you get made to do a weeks free work somewhere while your in your final years of school... training you up for worker ant life sort of thing... i worked somewhere with a decent owner and he paid me min wage instead of nothing like most :P )..... got it home and couldnt work out why it wouldnt work..... then was told i needed a gfx card too!!! waited 6months to get one for christmas lol!!

The wait was worth it though, at the time Kingpin was the first "real life" fps... to me it was basicly GTA in a Fps style and with no cars... I loved the way enemy did'nt come in hoards and were pretty powerful agaist you... you didnt just go wading into a new area or towards someone..... i also loved the way guns held real power.... after playing for a while with just lead pips etc at hand...when you got a gun it felt crazy... kinda like guns in Manhunt!

Im with @drgribb.. how did you get this working on your pc? I dont think it was even supported by XP!

Played this game for a year straight on HEAT the service it was released with. But, the exe. fast hack ruined it and I stopped playing.

OMG kingpin was soo edgy back in the day!  That game was awesome!  Haha, my brother and I used to go to our neighbor's house to play that one.  The only thing more violent in those days was Soldier of Fortune: Double Helix lol.  How are you guys making it run??  i remember trying download it a couple years back and couldn't get it to run on (at the time I was running Vista) Windows.

Damn. They keep going through these kickass games I own via GOG.

Kingpin shoulda' got more attention than it did when it was released. Glad it's getting more exposure through coverage like this.

@greendude123 Sounds more like you get an extra 10 bonus quests a day if your a founder or elite member.  These 10 quests making it easier/faster to level up I assume...?
