Hot on the heels of the Microsoft Xbox 360 announcement comes news that two of the most anticipated upcoming PC shooters will also be available for the console.

Both Call of Duty 2 and Quake 4 were featured in the MTV special The Next-Generation Xbox Revealed. They were also shown off to GameSpot by Microsoft corporate vice president of Xbox worldwide marketing and publishing Peter Moore during a recent visit to the Microsoft campus in Redmond, Washington. The two games are being developed alongside their PC cousins at their respective studios, Infinity Ward and Raven Software, and will both be published by Activision.

In other Activision news, the publisher today revealed its game lineup for next week's E3. Besides Call of Duty 2 and Quake 4, a new console version of Call of Duty will be on display. "Call of Duty 2: Big Red One unites players in the chaos of battle," said Activision in a statement, "fighting as part of a squad in the legendary and decorated 'Big Red One,' the American 1st Infantry Division."

If you'd rather save the world without fighting World War II all over again, Activision will be showing off three superhero games: Ultimate Spider-Man, which sees the webslinger duking it out with his nemesis, Venom; X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse, the sequel to the best-selling action RPG X-Men Legends; and Fantastic 4, a team-based action adventure--playable solo or co-op--based on the upcoming comic-book-inspired film.

Speaking of films, Peter Molyneux's entertainment mogul simulation The Movies will be on display for the second year in a row. Also on display will be Shrek Superslam, a comedic brawling game featuring the green ogre from the popular Shrek animated features.

The announcement also revealed the title to the new Tony Hawk game, Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. The skating game, which was revealed to be an Xbox 360 title during a game-footage montage on MTV, will give "players the freedom to experience continuous skating and BMX biking action without leaving the game or waiting for load times as they explore and choose missions in a massive, living Los Angeles skate world," according to Activision.
