PSP RPG off to factory

Falcom's The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion goes gold; game set to release in stores later this month.

Between Untold Legends, X-Men Legends II, and Kingdom of Paradise, the PSP is not hurting for action role-playing games. However, traditional console-style RPGs are another matter. The latest Ys is in development for a March release in the US, and Popolocrois is scheduled for an early December release. However, it looks like both games are going to be beat to the shelves by Falcom's The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion, which publisher Bandai Games today announced has gone gold.

The game's story casts players in the role of Avin, a young boy on a quest to find his lost sister, Eimelle. The game uses a mix of 2D sprites and polygons to depict all the requisite role-playing standards, from the 3D world-exploration view, to the turn-based combat screens. The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion is rated T for Teen and will retail for $39.99.
