PSP Dual Packs debut this week

Sony bundling two-pack portable releases of Ratchet and Clank, Daxter, Syphon Filter, Killzone, SOCOM for $15.

The PlayStation Vita is expected to begin shipping later this year, but Sony isn't quite yet ready to retire the six-year-old PSP. Today, the game company offered a cheap way to pick up top-rated games for the system en masse.

The Syphon Filter/Killzone collabo will be among the first PSP Dual Packs available.

Beginning this week, Sony will launch the PSP Dual Pack line, which includes two games for $14.99. The soon-to-be-available PSP Dual Packs will come in the following configurations: Secret Agent Clank and Daxter; Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow and Killzone Liberation; and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo.

The PSP Dual Packs can be purchased at retail or downloaded through the PlayStation Network. Sony did not indicate whether it plans to release additional Dual Pack configurations in the future. The company had not responded to a request for comment as of press time.

For those who missed the titles, an excellent package.

This is a great strategy considering the PSP is quite the portable experience. With these atractive games, and the low PSP price point, it is much more affordable to get one of these great consoles.

i loved killzone liberation. it was one of the first demos you could download from the playstation network for the psp when it was just website online only. you had to download it to your computer, sync it to your psp and put it on there. i want to finish it. and syphon filter was excellent! this is a buy. and a new psp. win.

I'd be interested to know if they are packing in 2 UMD's (which the thickness of the box makes it look like) or if they are fitting both games on a single UMD. Personally if it were a console game I'd rather have separate discs I can loan / sell / use independent of eachother, but for a portable I NEVER seem to have enough space to bring enough games and 2 on 1 disc would be awesome.

I prefer to buy the games from a shop, that way once I beaten it, and grow bored of it, I can sell it for some reparations. Still, this is a neat idea.

Although I got Daxter, I'll get the Clank and Daxter package, as well as the Syphon Filter and Socom package. I'm curious as to what the next packages will be.

I have every game except secret agent clank. But this is great if you need to catch up on your PSP games.

It's an accomplishment to get SOCOM on the PSP, but they're just not any fun to play w/ only 1 analog stick. Hmm I could get Secret Agent Clank/Daxter. I'm glad its for the PSN too since I only have the PSP Go now.

These are great deals, but I suggest you download them, instead of buying them at retail stores, if you plan on buying a Vita.
