PSA: Titanfall 2 Excluded From EA/Origin Access

No early play or discounts for subscribers.

One of the nicest perks of EA/Origin Access is that subscribers get to play EA games five days before their official releases dates, or in the case of Battlefield 1, more than a week early. With the launch of Titanfall 2 coming up at the end of the week, subscribers of the Xbox One and PC service may be wondering why the game is not unlocked on their platform yet.

For reasons that have yet to be explained, Titanfall 2 is excluded from all the benefits of EA/Origin Access, the publisher confirmed last month. That means subscribers can't play early and won't save 10 percent on the game when it comes out. There is no version of EA Access available on PlayStation 4.

Now Playing: Titanfall 2 Titans Tear it Up

Developer Respawn told GameReactor last month that Titanfall 2 could become part of EA/Origin Access in the future, but not at launch. We have followed up with EA in an attempt to get more details on why Titanfall 2 is excluded from the program. We'll update this post with anything we hear back.

In other news, Respawn recently confirmed that the game's PS4 Pro patch is already on the disc. Additionally, producer Drew McCoy explained that the PS4 Pro edition will not run at a native 4K resolution.
