With less than a week to go before The Black Glove's Kickstarter campaign ends, its Boston-based developer, Day For Night Games, has announced virtual reality support for the "surreal" game.

The game has quite a long way to go to reach its $550,000 target, as funding currently stands at around $158,000 with just four days to go until the campaign ends on November 7.

If The Black Glove's funding goal is met, however, the game will support Oculus Rift on PC and Project Morpheus for the PlayStation 4 version.

"We've always felt that The Black Glove's immersive, story-rich environments (made by artists who help create the BioShock series' Rapture and Columbia) are particularly well-suited for exploration using virtual reality headsets," Day For Night Games wrote on its Kickstarter page."

VR support will only happen if The Black Glove meets its funding target. Day For Night Games hasn't shied away from acknowledging the challenge it faces with regards to funding, and now the developer has even launched a "Save The Black Glove" campaign to raise awareness.

You can download an assortment of "Save The Black Glove" graphics, including a Twitter header image and a Facebook cover photo, at the game's Kickstarter page.

Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus remain in-development products with no information available yet regarding when consumer versions will be released or what they might cost.

Day For Night Games is one of the independent studios that rose from the ashes of BioShock creator Irrational Games following its closure this year. Another is The Molasses Flood, which successfully funded survival game The Flame in the Flood through Kickstarter last month.

In other news about The Black Glove, BioShock creator Ken Levine has released a short video wherein he gives his endorsement to the project. Watch it below.
