According to NPD data, PS4 software outsold its closest competitor in Australia by 82% in value and 84% in units. A Sony representative confirmed that all data includes both retail and digital sales. SCEA named Bloodborne, The Order: 1886, and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection as the "top first party performers."

Managing director of Sony Computer Entertainment Australia Michael Emphraim added: "We are excited to welcome the inclusion of PlayStation VR, that will again elevate our proposition by pushing the boundaries of innovative technology. Our community holds an invaluable role in making PlayStation the success it is and we're incredibly grateful and proud to enjoy these achievements with them."

Earlier this year Sony released a statement claiming that the PS4 was the best-selling console in the United States during December and for the entirety of 2015, although specific figures were not detailed. As of January, the PS4 has sold 35.9 million units globally, 5.9 million of which were sold during the 2015 festive season.
