Capcom today released a stunning new gameplay trailer for its upcoming free-to-play PlayStation 4 exclusive Deep Down, showing off gorgeous environments, fierce dragons, and the game's four-player mode. That's the good news. The not-so-great news is that the publisher also confirmed that the game's beta has been delayed 2015, according to a translation of the video you see above by Siliconera.

Deep Down producer Kazunori Sugiura said the delay was necessary to deliver a good experience for players. He also apologized to players who have been left waiting for the beta, which was originally expected to launch this summer before being delayed multiple times. The Deep Down beta has been announced only for Japan so far.

Powered by Capcom's new Panta Rhei engine, Deep Down features dungeons that exist in a shared world, similar to that of Demon's Souls or Dark Souls. No release date for the game has been announced. Regarding the game's free-to-play business model, and the microtransactions that will be available, producer Yoshinori Ono said the game will offer a "large variety of content at reasonable prices."
