PS4 demand may exceed supply - Jack Tretton
GameStop executives to buy "every single unit" of the PS4 that Sony can manufacture, according to SCEA CEO.
Sony Computer Entertainment America CEO Jack Tretton has said during a Forbes interview that demand for the PS4 may exceed its supply.
Tretton said that "given the technology that [SCE is] offering, given the software lineup, given the price point we have, that [it will] have consumers interested in excess of what [the company is] able to manufacture." He was also told by GameStop executives last week that GameStop would buy "every single unit" Sony could manufacture. Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House said a week before that the demand for the PS4 "may well outstrip supply".
Tretton said during Sony's E3 2013 press conference last week that PS4 games would not need regular online check-ins and disc-based PS4 games could be traded. For more information, check out GameSpot's coverage on Sony and its new console.
