PS4 and PS3 Getting Costume Quest 2 With Exclusive Sackboy Costume

Halloween-themed RPG from Double Fine launches next week, with Sackboy following sometime after.

Double Fine's Costume Quest 2 launches on both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 next Tuesday, October 28, publisher Midnight City announced today. And it'll be coming with a PlayStation-exclusive bonus: LittleBigPlanet's Sackboy.

Costume Quest 2 is already available on PC, having been released on October 7. The PlayStation versions will bring the same game to consoles just in time for Halloween (much like the original, CQ2's story revolves around Halloween and trick-or-treating).

Unfortunately, the Sackboy costume won't be ready in time for launch, and will be released as part of a free update at some point later. Currently, there's no exact release date, but Midnight City says it'll be out "in the coming weeks."

Once Sackboy is made available, you won't be able to immediately equip the costume; you'll first need to collect four hidden pieces to put it together. Once that's done, you'll be able to don the costume and put Sackboy's special power to use, the Little Big Beat Down. You can check it out (it's basically a punching attack that targets one enemy) in the video above and in the gallery below.

When it's released, the PS3 and PS4 versions of Costume Quest 2 will be priced at $15. For more, check out our review of the PC version.
